This last book was probably my favorite of the three - and yet, I found I'd put it down even in exciting parts. The second book was fine, but as I often find with many second books in series, it wasn't as compelling as t. I loved the first half of the first book didn't love the second half. Review 2: This trilogy is very hard for me to rate. A huge part of me wishes I could escape into the magical sub-world of The Magicians, but I know that even if I did, it would only be a matter of time before I started looking for the next fantasy. I love the sarcasm, the OMGs and the poignancy, the crossover between the real world and the fantasy, the subtle and unacknowledged pop culture references, the self-aware jadedness that only comes from being a young adult in today's modern world. Review 1: It dawned on me while tearing through this book how much I really enjoy Lev Grossman's writing.
